Why we work with Buck:

At Zatori we take a very strategic approach when working with our clients and only partner with firms that we believe we can add value to, as well as those that are aligned with our own values.

Buck hit the nail on the head with this and are a great company to work with, both as a strategic partner and as an employee! They were voted the Pensions Administrator of the year at the UK 2021 Pensions awards for their outstanding service, innovation, and technology developments, as well as being named the Pensions Consultancy of the year at the 2022 Pension Age Awards. They were acknowledged here for their commitment to supporting clients, its people, and the industry as a whole.

As well as being an award winning business, Buck are also the fastest growing pension consultancy in the UK, having doubled in size since 2018.

In 2018, their revenue was 15 million and they had 260 people in the team. By the end of this year, they predict they will grow their revenue by 13% and add 110 individuals in the process (that’s a headcount increase of 28%).

This shows Buck are not only growing as a company but that they take a real interest in their people and wellbeing as their headcount growth outstrips their revenue. They believe in providing their teams with the right tools they need to provide a quality of service to clients that everyone can be proud of.

What’s so great about them

As well as looking after their staff well-being (from a mental, physical and financial wellbeing perspective), Buck takes a quality over quantity approach with the work that they take on, similarly to the approach we have here at Zatori.

Down to this way of working, they are able to offer a bespoke product based on their clients needs, their staff have more time to offer a personal service and better governance and this also leaves more opportunity for employees to focus on their career path/journey.

They believe in providing individuals the opportunity to progress at their own pace and puts the power of learning and progression in the hands of the team:

  • They have an internal training team on the Pensions Administration side of the business.
  • A formal development plan consisting of reviews and goal setting per year where you have the opportunity to plot your own path.
  • An informal route that is recognised as the monthly one to one’s provides a perfect platform for you to raise needs and goals.

All roles are advertised internally first, meaning if you’re ready to step up throughout the year you can.

What work we do with Buck

We work with Buck on our new Talent Subscription based recruitment model partnering with their Internal acquisition team. As they continue to grow we are supporting in the following areas:

  • Pensions Administration – BAU Scheme Administration, Projects (Annual events and Ad hoc), Implementation, Training, Quality Assurance, Project Management
  • Pension Management Consulting

Alongside recruitment, Zatori also partner with Buck and offer consultancy on the market and take a leading approach in marketing the brand through a variety of different channels, all with the goal of raising awareness to Buck as a company and why it is so great to work there!

What are we as a partnership trying to achieve

When we work with any company, we want to add value through our services and this is no different with Buck! They are growing and our role in the partnership is to power that growth by driving forward their employer value proposition (i.e. why they are a great place to work) to attract the best talent in the market.

We do this by truly partnering with them across recruitment, employee branding and consulting.
